Philsophy

Watters Wrestling Club strives to give wrestlers' the opportunity to elevate their wrestling skills in the off-season by providing mat time and wrestling expertise. We aim to build relationships with our athletes and help them reach their goals. Watters Wrestling Club also provides your athlete with the opportunity to experience the Olympic styles of wrestling.

All About Me

A native of Ankeny, Iowa, Rachel wrestled for Ballard Community High School where she lettered all four years on a male team and became the first female to win a sectional title at 145 pounds in 2016. While in high school, Rachel was the youngest wrestler to qualify and compete in the 2016 Olympic Team Trials in Iowa City, a three-time Asics/Vaughan Freestyle National Champion (Fargo), and a two-time Folkstyle National Champion. Throughout high school and college, Rachel won five age-group National Championships to earn the spot representing the United States on three Junior World Teams and two U23 World Teams. Following high school, she wrestled for Oklahoma City University and was a four-time All-American. In her 2020 senior year, Rachel went undefeated, becoming the first Iowan to win a Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) National Championship and a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship. Rachel was a four-time recipient of the Iowa/USA Wrestling Female Wrestler of the Year Award. In 2018, she made a Final X appearance and was a member of 2018 USA Senior National Team. In 2019, she was a silver medalist at the Pan-American Championships. Rachel qualified for and competed in the 2021 Olympic Team Trials. Rachel was a graduate assistant coach at William Penn University. Rachel also competed for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club.
